Korea-Arab eSports Tournament to be held for the first time in Seoul

 

- Friendly game between Korea and five Arab teams

- PUBG Mobile game will be played and live streamed in Korea and the Arab world

 

The 16th Arab Cultural Festival: Korea-Arab eSports Tournament is to be hosted by Korea-Arab Society (KAS) and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Korea e-Sports Association and Krafton on 15 November 2023 at the VSG Arena located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

 

Arab Cultural Festival is an annual festival that has been held by KAS since 2008. It aims to enhance cultural exchange between Korea and the Arab world and to improve the Korean people’s understanding of Arab culture. This year, it is the first time ever to hold an eSports tournament in Seoul. 

 

Due to the high popularity of eSports sector among young generation, KAS would like to expand Korea-Arab exchanges in the eSports field by inviting five Arab teams to Korea, the home of e-sports. Esports was also selected as an official category in this year’s Hangzhou Asian Games. In this occasion, KAS will hold a friendly game of Krafton’s which was also played at Asian Games.

 

The Seongnam ROX team will participate as the Korean representative, and a total of five Arab teams will participate, including Team Falcons, Jordan’s national team-Team Jordan, NASR Esports, Virtual Gaming Squad, and Xenon. The Arab team consisted of 26 players from the Arab world including Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. 

 

This tournament will be broadcast live on the Korea`s official PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube channel and Egyptian game influencer’s YouTube channel.
